via Medium – Throughout the near entirety of human history, a population’s understanding of what’s going on in the world has been controlled by those in power. The men in charge controlled what the people were told about rival populations, the history of their tribe and its leadership, etc. When the written word was invented, men in charge dictated what books were permitted to be written and circulated, what ideas were allowed, what narratives the public would be granted access to.
This continued straight on into modern times. Where power is not overtly totalitarian, wealthy elites have bought up all media, first in print, then radio, then television, and used it to advance narratives that are favorable to their interests. Not until humanity gained widespread access to the internet has our species had the ability to freely and easily share ideas and information on a large scale without regulation by the iron-fisted grip of power. This newfound ability arguably had a direct impact on the election for the most powerful elected office in the most powerful government in the world in 2016, as a leak publishing outlet combined with alternative and social media enabled ordinary Americans to tell one another their own stories about what they thought was going on in their country.
Editors Note: The Twitter Page has re-appeared. It was either a signal and/or an automation gone awry.
“Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!” was the only message facing disheartened visitors who tried to access Julian Assange’s official Twitter account on Monday.
It was not immediately clear whether the leader of the transparency organization Wikileaks deleted the account @JulianAssange himself, or whether it was expunged by malignant hackers. It reportedly vanished in the early hours of Monday morning.
It does not appear that the account has been suspended by Twitter, as a message about the account having been blocked is lacking. The handle has been inactive since Friday, although @WikiLeaks is operating as usual.
Correspondence between CPS and its Swedish counterparts about WikiLeaks founder deleted after lawyer retired in 2014
Email exchanges between the CPS and its Swedish counterparts over the high-profile case were deleted after the lawyer at the UK end retired in 2014.
The destruction of potentially sensitive and revealing information comes ahead of a tribunal hearing in London next week.
Adding to the intrigue, it emerged the CPS lawyer involved had, unaccountably, advised the Swedes in 2010 or 2011 not to visit London to interview Assange. An interview at that time could have prevented the long-running embassy standoff.
The CPS, responding to questions from the Guardian, denied there were any legal implications of the data loss for an Assange case if it were to come to court in the future. Asked if the CPS had any idea what was destroyed, a spokesperson said: “We have no way of knowing the content of email accounts once they have been deleted.”
via ZeroHedge – On September 18th, the US Senate voted to ban the use of products from the Moscow-based cyber security firm Kaspersky Lab by the federal government, citing national security risk. The vote was included as an amendment to an annual defense policy spending bill approved by the Senate on the same day and was written to bar the use of Kaspersky Lab software in government civilian and military agencies.
Alas, according to a new revelation from WikiLeaks this morning, any perceived “national security risk” from Kaspersky could have resulted from the fact that the CIA specifically designed hacking software, code-named ‘Hive’, which intentionally “impersonated” the Russian cyber security firm so that “if the target organization looks at the network traffic coming out of its network, it is likely to misattribute the CIA exfiltration of data to uninvolved entities whose identities have been impersonated.”
via ZeroHedge – It was approximately one year ago, when angry tweeters alleged that Jack Dorsey et al., were purposefully censoring and “suppressing” certain content on Twitter, namely anything to do with the leaked DNC and John Podesta emails, as well as hashtags critical of Hillary Clinton while “shadow-banning” pro-Donald Trump content. We can now confirm that at least one part of the above was true, because during today’s Senate hearing, Twitter admitted it “buried”, which is another word for censored, significant portions of tweets related to hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign chair John Podesta in the months heading into the 2016 presidential campaign.
As Daily Caller’s Peter Hasson reports, Twitter’s systems hid 48 percent of tweets using the #DNCLeak hashtag and 25 percent of tweets using #PodestaEmails, Twitter general counsel Sean Edgett said in his written testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
WikiLeaks editor Julian Assange predicts an impending dystopic world where human perception is no match for Artificial Intelligence-controlled propaganda and the consequences of AI are lost on its creators, who envision a nirvana-like future.
Assange spoke of the threat of AI-controlled social media via video link at rapper and activist M.I.A.’s Meltdown Festival in the Southbank Centre, London.
Speaking about the future of AI, Assange told a panel including Slovenian philosopher Slavoj Žižek that there will be a time when AI will be used to adjust perception.
“Imagine a Daily Mail run by essentially Artificial Intelligence, what does that look like when there’s only the Daily Mail worldwide? That’s what Facebook and Twitter will shift into,” he said.
A copy of the 400+ pages (700+ pdf) of the CIA/NSA ‘Stellar Wind’ (aka ‘President’s Surveillance’) Program is provided below. Recent commentaries are also included. Stellar Wind was launched in 2001 and continued into the first two years of the Obama administration and in 2011 was ended. Stellar Wind was a creation of the NSA and CIA to track and store all domestic internet traffic. The program’s activities involved data mining of a large database of the communications of American citizens, including e-mail communications, telephone conversations, financial transactions, and Internet activity. Stellar Wind was replaced by a series of other programs, such as Boundless Informant, PRISM and XKeyscore (as exposed by Edward Snowden).
In June 2013 the Washington Post and the Guardian published an OIG draft report, dated March 2009, leaked by Edward Snowden detailing the Stellar Wind program. In June 2013 the Guardian also published the Inspector General’s report on Stellar Wind as well as correspondence involving attorney general Michael Mukasey in 2007 requesting permission for the NSA to expand its ‘contact chains’ deeper into Americans’ email records.
In 2012 the New York Times published a video interview with NSA whistleblower William Binney, who helped design Stellar Wind. NSA whistleblower Thomas Drake also commented on SW.
Here, courtesy of Cryptome, is a copy of a document that examines the legality of the program.

Julian Assange cautioned all of us a while back, in the vein of revelations similar to those provided by Edward Snowden, that Google — the insidious search engine with a reputation for powering humanity’s research — plays the dark hand role in furthering U.S. imperialism and foreign policy agendas.
Now, as the Wikileaks founder faces days of questioning by a Swedish special prosecutor over rape allegations inside his Ecuadorian Embassy haven in London today — and particularly in wake of the presidential election — Assange’s warning Google “is not what it seems” must be revisited.
Rod Wheeler: The police department nor the FBI haven’t been cooperating at all. I believe that the answer to solving his death lies on that computer which I believe is at the the police department or the FBI.
Reporter: But you have sources at the FBI saying there is information that could link Seth Rich to Wikileaks.
Rod Wheeler: Actually I have a source inside the police department that has looked at me straight in the eye and said Rod we were told to stand down on this case and I can’t share any information with you. That is very unusual for a murder investigation especially from a police department… I do believe there is a correlation between the mayor’s office and the DNC. And that’s the information that will come out tomorrow.
Governmental Service Corporations -like the UNITED STATES INC, CHINA INC, and RUSSIA INC- all have developed the most advanced computer spying tools. They have spend their “artificial person CITIZEN” funds to create these spying tools.
Wikileaks exposes many of these tools. These include Vault 7: spying on chat, phones, Skype, WIFI networks, hacking PDF documents, and abusing the anti-virus software designed to stop these “infections” of corporate legalese BS. Other CIA programs are: Eternal Blue, CrunchyLimeSkies, ElderPiggy, AngerQuake and McNugget.
Governments MUST use these tools in the “wild” where other people can take them and reverse engineer them. If governments developed these tools but never used them, they can’t rationalize having built these spy softwares in the first place.
Thus, the most advance governmental service corporation Software spyware is used in the wild… where actual Blackhat hackers operate. These hackers now have access to these programs. And they have got the codes…
Wikileaks is being called a NON-STATE Intelligence Service. Investigative Journalists investigating Human Right Crimes and analyzing it is called JOURNALISM.
By this new definition of “INTELLIGENCE SERVICES” as meaning “FREEDOM OF SPEECH,” all news -e.g. Huffington Post, New York Times, Washington Post, L.A. Times, FOX News, CNN, RT, BBC, Al-Jeezira, etc- are Intelligence Services.
Investigative Journalists publish news publicly and use it for exposing criminal governmental service corporations.
INTELLIGENCE SERVICES keep the news private and use it for their own advantages.
Those who are connected to the crimes and misdemeanors of the Clinton crime cartel live in hiding for fear of their lives.
Of course there was funneling of money going on. The Wikileaks and Guccifer 2.0 hacks went along way in documenting the quid pro quo nature of Clinton diplomacy.
Back in the 90s, it was selling nuclear secrets to China, and schmoozing with high powered Chinese individuals, caught up in real estate deals, fundraising schemes and the like.
So it is little surprising, though certainly alarming, that this story has surfaced of a Chinese-American businessman who is living in hiding and who felt compelled to make an ‘insurance policy’ video detailing his involvement in the Clinton admin’s “Chinagate” which involved laundered funds from high powered Chinese businessmen:
